IGUANA - The Star Pirate COMIC by RalphNiese IGUANA - The Star Pirate COMIC by RalphNiese
Happy New Year - Damn i´m late like ever!

Here a submission for the Ink Group (clicky on the right) - my inks over i comic i did... last april to may? Not sure anymore.

:iconalejandroisaminotaur: provided text after the rough story which was provided by :iconladrones: - i gonna drop it later on this year - maybe even with some colors on top of it.

So far enjoy and have a nice imagination what´s probably in the speech balloons. That´s sometimes always a little better than the final version you get to read.

DWNLD BIG FILE ! 5,5 MB!!!

on another note:
D&S purchases are still in the oven and will be served baked fresh at the end of the month :ashamed: SRRY for all the wait! *geez*

I love the rendering on the last page, last panel. So cool looking. You are like Moebius from Germany.

This is crazy in all the good ways. The fight scenes are visceral, the character concepts are striking, and the visual narration is very expertly done. Fantastic work. :worship:

I did all pages on large copies (A4) of my small thumbnails(A7). I think therfor it got a funky smooth feel :D - skipped with this the full pencil stage and inked loosely on the copies.

wait this was no answer to anything - just facts. or maybe a tip? :)
thank you, Julien!

Not only are these facts fascinating because they give a glimpse into your creative process, but knowing that you didn't pencil these pages makes the end result all the more admirable.

well, when you see the thumbnails they´re pretty penciled at all [link] i didn´t wanted to the same work again and again - like the first 2 pages i got translated to A3 but got lazy and thought A4 is holding the tiny nibs work also well. so whatever :D
You´ll see when holding them next toeach other that there´s no real changes made.

Comparing your breakdowns with the finished pages is enlightening. I still think that jumping from one to the other without any intermediate stage requires an insane level of craftsmanship.

Oh, the pic search has nice things of him! no haven´t seen before! i grew up with Moebius & Mitch O`connel and Charles Burns. to name the big names with the perfect lines.....but sandlin looks far more dirtier and closer to eternal distress (aka. real life) which i love really much! thanks for the tip!

no prob. the funny thing is, he's an extremely mild mannered and nice guy. you'd expect him to be like, showering constantly in his own mental anguish.

naaah, could imagine that he´s a nice guy - most are. for the mental anguish. he has his canvasses and paper to draw on - a good way to loose some steam. what wouldi do if i won´t draw...hmmm....
